TV terrestrial pilot for the Edinburgh Festival next month

Good action in-door shot on location in the studio in Bournemouth Summer 2011.

Photograph caption (Left to Right): DoP (Director of Photography) Kirsty Smithers sizing a focal length, Catherine Kirkham-Sandy (Upper 4) following the director’s eye line as American film director Edge D Paul sets the next scene: Catherine is to walk down a long stair case whilst chatting on script to up-and-coming theatre actress Katie Dancey (right) who plays another key role. It is a long “one-take” shot with a tracking sound crane and it had to be right first time!

The story line for the 6–part television series centres in teenage adventures in a rescue centre for abandoned horses and ponies: the cast is to be headed by two well known British comediennes. Catherine plays a regular part of the Centre’s family as a 13 yr old riding enthusiast who is given her first horse in Episode One: “I’ll have to learn to ride! Do dressage! Gymkhana?” says Catherine.

This pilot is slated to be shown at The Edinburgh Festival and the planned first series is planned for show on terrestrial channels in late 2012 through early 2013.
